The purpose of this bill is to provide a minimum percentage requirement of food from in-state producers for purposes of the West Virginia Fresh Food Act. Each state funded institution must obtain 10 percent of its food from in-state producers by July 1, 2025; 15 percent by July 1, 2027; 20 percent by January 1, 2029; and 25 percent by July 1, 2032.
No additional appropriations would be required from the enactment of this legislation.
