Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to create a tip line to the DHHR to respond to tips of food insecurity.
The Department currently offers this information through Client Services Hotline; therefore anticipates no additional cost.
During SFY2022 there were a total of 49,104 inquiries to the Client Services Hotline, 29,462 (60%) were SNAP inquiries and 2,455 (5%) were Food Pantry inquiries.
