Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation Section, currently self-operates several restaurants at its lodge parks, and has contracted with concessionaires to operate food and beverage venues at other areas. As part of its standard operating procedures, state parks routinely sources and procures as many West Virginia grown and manufactured food products as possible and as available. Locally sourced products are part of the daily menu offerings at all state park restaurants, and many of the lodge parks schedule large farm to table events annually.

Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
This program has not added any additional cost or revenue to the state parks based on current percentage levels required. The availability of local product supply and the ability to deliver the product to the parks have been the only challenge to date. If the required procurement percentages increase, the availability of supply and delivery may result in future operational challenges.
