There is no anticipated cost to the state in transferring the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit from DHHR to the Office of the West Virginia Attorney General. In fact, it is anticipated that this measure will boast a long term savings to the overall state budget.

Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
The Office of the West Virginia Attorney General would require the additional spending authority to employ the staff necessary to operate the Medicaid Fraud Unit. Therefore, we would request spending authority to match that of the DHHR unit for fiscal year 2015.
