Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The proposed legislation would have a significant fiscal impact on the WV Division of Corrections. Due to the age and physical plant issues of our DOC facilities the fiscal impact is estimated to be well in excess of 10 million dollars to become complaint under the Occupational Safety and Health Act. This would be an extremely difficult task for the WV Division of Corrections to make the renovations necessary to ensure this compliance.
