Decreases Existing Revenue
Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
This will have a very significant negative impact to our Licensing and Certification programs; with the disallowance of a long standing licensure and monitoring through on-site license checks during new construction and major renovation work being conducted throughout the State. It will not only impact the Fire Damper Technician and Technician In Training programs but the following: Fire Protection Design Layout Technician; Engineered Suppression Installer and Technician; Fire Extinguisher Technician, Pre-Engineered Systems Installer and Technician; Sprinkler Fitter - In Training and Journeyman programs.

Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
There would be significant decreases in our revenue received; which could mean losses in personnel or at a minimum restricting due to the loss of these vital licensure programs not only now but for the unforeseeable future.
Memorandum
Please preserve these licensing programs which have been in place for nearly nine years. The only exception to that being the Fire Damper Techician and Technician In Training programs which have only been in place for three years and which has also been helpful to insuring proper installation, testing, and maintenance of the said devices.
