Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
Senate Bill 542, if enacted, would require the creation of a four-year middle high school pilot program as a part of the Upper Kanawha Valley Resiliency and Revitalization Program. In addition, the legislation would require research of other similar programs for the purpose of seeking advice and incorporating the best aspects of those programs.
It is anticipated that the any costs associated with this bill will be paid from the State Department of Education, a county board of education, and the Development Office in the Department of Commerce. Consequently, no additional expenditures from public higher education would be incurred from this bill if enacted.
