Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
House Bill 2146, if enacted, would create a loan tuition forgiveness program to encourage students in selected and necessary fields to remain in the state. It would also create a “New College Families” loan forgiveness program as well as a loan forgiveness program for counties with low college attendance. Because the loan forgiveness programs are for funds paid through the institutions or their supporting foundations, no additional appropriations are requested.
