Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to allow people with disabilities to request a wallet-sized disability placard instead of one that hangs from a vehicle’s rearview mirror.
The Division estimates it will need 200,000 dashboard cards at a cost of $56,000. Additionally, the Division will need new forms listing the dashboard card as an option. These forms will cost $575.
In future years the Division estimates, on an annualized basis, it will need 40,000 dashboard cards at a cost of $0.28 per card instead of 40,000 windshield placards at a cost of $0.24 per card. This produces an annualized cost of $1,600.
