Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
Our review of the proposed legislation indicates that it will potentially impact local government budgets by requiring a nationally recognized training course in emergency cardiovascular care for telephonic cardiovascular resuscitation for persons employed in county emergency service organizations after July 1, 2019. However, the State Auditor does not have records and/or information available to us to adequately determine the likely potential cost impacts of enactment of the proposed legislation. However, since the Bill seems to provide a “Grandfathering Provision” with respect to this specific training requirement to all current employees hired on or before July 1, 2019, it would appear the initial financial impacts would be minimal on a State-wide basis.
