Currently personal finance standards make-up one fourth of the Civics course which is required for graduation. The cost reflects the expense of bringing 10 teachers, higher education professionals, and other experts together for at least two face-to-face meetings to create a full credit course in personal finance.

Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
Currently personal finance standards make-up one fourth of the Civics course which is required for graduation. The cost reflects the expense of bringing 10 teachers, higher education professionals, and other experts together for at least two face-to-face meetings to create a full credit course in personal finance.
If this change must result in a separate stand-alone course, the State Board would be required to increase graduation requirements that have previously been determined by State Board rule.
Additionally, counties may incur the cost of hiring additional teachers and procuring instructional materials.
Instructional material procurement is currently governed by ยง18-2A-10.
