Fiscal Note Summary

Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.

The West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) is unable to determine if there is a cost to the State as a result of the proposed legislation since the WVDE does not administer the WV College Prepaid Tuition and Savings Program. The proposed legislation would expand the program to private and parochial students. For the 2017-18 year, there were 11,397 students enrolled in private and parochial schools in West Virginia that could possibly utilize the expanded program.
