Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.


The purpose of this bill is to remove the registration fee for a vehicle operating on a combination of electricity and petrochemical fuels. The Division estimates it will cost $6,900 (60 hrs. x $115/hr.) for programming the cash register, and $7,200 (80 hrs. x $90/hr.) for mainframe programming. Total current expense of $14,100 ($6,900 + $7,200). The Division further estimates a reduction of revenue of $1,086,000 (10,860 vehicles x $100).

Memorandum


The current demand for technical expertise and support on the Division exceeds our current resource level. This bill will require additional technical expertise and support. Therefore, the Division needs to add an Information Systems Manager 1 position at an estimated annual cost of $79,500 (Salary and Benefits) and a Programmer Analyst 3 position at an estimated annual cost of $75,000 (Salary and Benefits).
