The purpose of proposed House Bill 4357 is to require executive branch agencies to maintain a website with specific information, requiring county commissions to maintain websites with specific information and to provide certain information to the Secretary of State, and requiring municipalities to maintain websites with specific information available to the public at no charge.

Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):


We anticipate that Executive Branch agencies of the State of West Virginia and the various county governments already maintain a Website presence and will be able to meet the requirements of the proposed legislation at little or no additional costs. However, many of the smaller municipalities in the State may incur additional new expenditures to meet the requirements of the proposed Bill; however, we have no detailed information available to us which would allow us to ascertain, with any level of certainty, what the level of the additional efforts and attending costs might be.
