Fiscal Note Summary

Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.

Summarize in a clear and concise manner what impact this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government. The implementation of Senate Bill 626 will neither increase or decrease revenue as it is anticipated that it will result in only a minimal increase in the number of cases filed with the Office of Administrative Hearings each year. Consequently, these additional cases can be resolved within the existing framework of the Agency without an increase in resources.

Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):

Please explain increases and decreases in personal services, current expenses, repairs and alterations, assets, other costs and revenues, including assumptions and data sources and delineation between start-up and ongoing costs. Please also include a long-range schedule of costs and revenues if fiscal impact is expected to vary in future years. The Division of Motor Vehicles reports that in 2019 ninety-seven graduated licenses were the subject of Orders of Revocation. Assuming that ninety-seven is a fair representative of the number filed each year, the Office of Administrative Hearings estimates the number of individuals requesting administrative review of graduated license revocations to be approximately ten per year.
