A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §18A-4-22, relating to allowing service personnel with NAPT certification eligibility for professional positions whose primary duties are the supervision of a county transportation department.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §18A-4-22, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 4. SALARIES, WAGES AND OTHER BENEFITS.
§18A-4-22. Service Personnel with NAPT Certification eligible for Transportation Management positions.
If a county board posts professional employee position, whose duties include supervision of a county transportation department, any service personnel that possesses a National Association for Pupil Transport (“NAPT”) certification may be considered for the position.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to allow employees with an NAPT certification to be eligible for transportation management positions, even if they are posted in the professional service.
