HB3042 HFA Pushkin 2-25 #1


Delegate Pushkin moves to amend Com Sub for HB3042 on page 2, Section 1, line 22, following the period, by inserting a new subsection to read as follows:

  “(c) Notwithstanding any provision of this section to the contrary, a local law or ordinance may be enacted by any political subdivision of this state to require any person providing any public service or accommodation that refuses to provide a service or accommodation to any member of the public based on him or her exercising his or her religious beliefs, to require that person post a sign of sufficient size and in a location visible to the public at the location where the service or accommodation is being provided, to notify members of the public that he or she will be refused service or accommodation based on the religious beliefs of the person providing that service or accommodation:  Provided, That any penalty established for failure to pose such sign may not exceed $200.00 for each violation.”
