What is RSS?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It is a new technology for web users that allows subscribed individuals to view up-to-the-minute information and news media.

How do I subscribe?

To get started you need a news reader. News readers are either web-based or downloadable software programs that enable users to view RSS Feeds quickly and easily. A news reader periodically checks each RSS Feed to which you are subscribed, gathers new news items that have been published, and displays the results. Some reader programs have a product registration fee, but free news readers are also available:

I've downloaded a news reader, now what?

After installing the downloaded reader onto your computer, you will need to locate news feeds to subscribe to. Currently News Releases, Wrap-Up, and the Legislature's Blog Today in the Legislature are available. To subscribe, copy this url: https://www.wvlegislature.gov/RSS/rss.xml, go to your news reader, select add new channel and paste the url into the space provided. Available pages are designated on the Legislature's Web site by this icon, RSS Feed.
