A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §17B-2-16, relating to the creation of the Community Crime Prevention Act.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

ARTICLE 2. ISSUANCE OF LICENSE, EXPIRATION AND RENEWAL.

§17B-2-16. Community Crime Prevention Act.

All new applicants for an identification card or driver’s license with the West Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles shall be cross-checked with the National Crime Information Center ("NCIC").

NOTE: To identify and prevent felons in another state or jurisdiction from relocating to West Virginia.
