A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by
adding thereto a new article, designated §5-5A-1, relating to
adding fifty new positions to the staff at the William R.
Sharpe, Jr. Hospital.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended
by adding thereto a new article, designated §5-5A-1, to read as
follows:
ARTICLE 5A. ADDITIONAL EMPLOYEES FOR WILLIAM R. SHARPE, JR.
_HOSPITAL.
§5-5A-1. Additional employees.
_(a) Upon passage of this article, the Department of Health and
Human Resources shall immediately review the current staffing needs
at the William R. Sharpe, Jr. Hospital and determine where fifty additional positions will best serve the needs of both the patients
and employees at that facility. Those positions include, but are
not limited to, physician specialists, nurses, nursing directors,
health service workers, health service assistants, health service
associates and security positions. The Department of Health and
Human Resources shall, no later than sixty days after the passage
of this article, begin filling those positions. All fifty
positions shall be filled no later than ninety days after the
passage of this article.
_(b) Funding for the pay rates and employment requirements
shall be provided from the appropriation to the Department of
Health and Human Resources.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to
add fifty new positions
to the staff at the William R. Sharpe, Jr. Hospital so that the
safety of the staff and patients may be enhanced.
This article is new; therefore, it has been completely
underscored.
