AN ACT to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §7-4-1a, relating to eligibility of prosecuting attorneys; and requiring a person to be licensed as an attorney in the State of West Virginia at the time of filing for office as a candidate for the office of prosecuting attorney.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
ARTICLE 4. PROSECUTING ATTORNEY, REWARDS, AND LEGAL ADVICE.
§7-4-1a. Eligibility of prosecuting attorneys.
To be eligible to be a candidate for the office of prosecuting attorney, a person shall be a duly licensed attorney in the State of West Virginia at the time of his or her filing for office.
