A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by
adding thereto a new section, designated §46A-6-111, relating
to regulating telemarketing for quasi-state agencies.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended
by adding thereto a new section, designated §46A-6-111, to read as
follows:
ARTICLE 6. GENERAL CONSUMER PROTECTION.
§46A-6-111. Regulation of telemarketing for quasi-state agencies.
(a) Telemarketing by quasi-state agencies, including, but not
limited to, the West Virginia State Troopers Association, shall be
regulated by the State of West Virginia.
(b) At least fifty percent of the moneys raised by
telemarketing efforts shall go to the agency for which it was
raised.
(c) The Attorney General shall propose rules for legislative
approval in accordance with the provisions of article three,
chapter twenty-nine-a of this code.
NOTE:
The purpose of this bill is to
regulate telemarketing by
quasi-state agencies.
