A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by
adding thereto a new section, designated §18-5-15g, relating
to requiring the county school boards to train all school
personnel in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and blood
precaution.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended
by adding thereto a new section, designated §18-5-15g
, to read as
follows:
ARTICLE 5. COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION.
§18-5-15g. Training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and blood
precaution.
County boards of education shall provide in-service training
on cardiopulmonary resuscitation and blood precaution to all school personnel. For the purposes of this section, "blood precaution"
means training in techniques and measures designed to avoid and
prevent the transmission of or contamination by, blood born
pathogens. The Department of Education, in consultation with the
Department of Health and Human Resources, shall propose rules for
legislative approval in accordance with the provisions of article
three-b, chapter twenty-nine-a of this code, to effectuate the
purposes of this section.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require the county
school boards to train all school personnel in cardiopulmonary
resuscitation and blood precaution.
