A BILL extending the time for the City Council of Piedmont to meet
as a levying body for the purpose of presenting to the voters
of the city an election to continue an additional city levy to
maintain the existing public streets, fire hydrants and lines
for the City of Piedmont and for payment of any obligation by
the city due to higher costs and for the purpose of paying all
costs incurred in the laying of this additional levy from
between the seventh and twenty-eighth days of March and the
third Tuesday in April until the thirty-first day of May, two
thousand seven.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
THE CITY COUNCIL OF PIEDMONT MEETING AS A LEVYING BODY EXTENDED.
§1. Extending time for the City of Piedmont to meet as a levying
body for election of additional levies to maintain the
existing public streets, fire hydrants and lines for the City of Piedmont and for payment of any obligation by the city due
to higher costs and for the purpose of paying all costs
incurred in the laying of the additional levy.
Notwithstanding the provisions of article eight, chapter
eleven of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred
thirty-one, as amended, to the contrary, the City Council of
Piedmont is authorized to extend the time for its meeting as a
levying body and certifying its actions to the State Auditor from
between the seventh and twenty-eighth days of March and the third
Tuesday in April until the thirty-first of May, two thousand seven,
for the purpose of submitting to the voters of the City of Piedmont
the continuation of an additional city levy to maintain the
existing public streets, fire hydrants and lines for the City of
Piedmont and for payment of any obligation by the city due to
higher costs and for the purpose of paying all costs incurred in
the laying of this additional levy.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to extend the time for the
City Council of Piedmont to meet as a levying body.
