A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by
adding thereto a new section, designated §16-1-14a, relating
to sanitarian employees of the Division of Health; providing
for a twenty-five percent across-the-board salary increase;
and providing for an annual cost-of-living increase.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended
by adding thereto a new section, designated §16-1-14a, to read as
follows:
ARTICLE 1. DIVISION OF HEALTH.
§16-1-14a. Sanitarians' salaries.
On the first day of July, two thousand seven, any
sanitarian, as defined in section two, article seventeen, chapter
thirty of this code, who is employed by the Division of Health
shall receive a salary increase in an amount equal to twenty-five percent of his or her salary on that date. Thereafter each
sanitarian shall receive an annual cost-of-living salary increase
in an amount equal to the annual rate of inflation as calculated by
the West Virginia Division of Labor.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to provide for a 25%
across-the-board salary increase for sanitarian employees of the
Division of Health to bring their salaries into parity with county
sanitarian employee salaries, and to additionally provide for an
annual cost-of-living salary increase.
