A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §33-4-24, relating to the creation of the Medical Insurance Policy Owner's Notification Act.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

ARTICLE 4. general provisions.

§33-4-24. Medical Insurance Policy Owner's Notification Act; effective date.

(a) This section shall be designated as the "Medical Insurance Policy Owner's Notification Act".

(b) Medical insurance policy owners shall be notified of controlled substances that are prescribed to beneficiaries under their policies, including the names of the drugs prescribed and the amounts of the drugs prescribed.

(c) This section shall become effective July 1, 2023.

NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to create the Medical Insurance Policy Owner's Notification Act.
