A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §30-2-17, relating to a requirement that attorneys hired by the State of West Virginia for legal positions paying a salary of $100,000 or more must have a license to practice law in the state at the time of hire.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
     That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §30-2-17, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 2. ATTORNEYS-AT-LAW.
§30-2-17. Attorneys hired by the State of West Virginia.

An attorney employed by the State of West Virginia in a legal position whose salary is $100,000 or more shall have a license to practice law in the state at the time of hire.



     NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require that all attorneys employed by the State of West Virginia in legal positions
paying $100,000 or more must have a license to practice law in the state at time of hire.

     This bill is new; therefore, it has been completely underscored.
