A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by
adding thereto a new section, designated §21-5A-12, relating
to exempting construction performed on behalf of county or
municipal governments from the prevailing wage laws for those
construction projects under $200,000.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended
by adding thereto a new section, designated §21-5A-12, to read as
follows:
ARTICLE 5A. WAGES FOR CONSTRUCTION OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS.
§21-5A-12. Exemption.
The provisions of this article do not apply to construction
performed on behalf of any county or municipal governmental
authority if the construction project cost is under $200,000.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to exempt construction
performed on behalf of any county or municipal government from the
prevailing wage laws for those construction projects under
$200,000.
