A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §18-9D-22, relating to requiring the School Building Authority to assess school safety and make a determination as to whether school safety construction is part of the project.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

 

ARTICLE 9D. SCHOOL BUILDING AUTHORITY.

§18-9D-22. Required assessment of school safety for projects.

All projects that are funded by the School Building Authority shall undergo an assessment of the school safety, regardless of whether it is a new or existing project. Additionally, there shall be a determination by the School Building Authority as to whether school safety construction is needed as part of the project or is needed at the time of the project.

 

NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require the School Building Authority to make an assessment of school safety needs for any new or existing projects.
