A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by
adding thereto a new section, designated §16-2F-10
, relating
to allowing hospitals to refuse to perform abortions unless
the mother's life is in imminent danger.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended
by adding thereto a new section, designated §16-2F-10
, to read as
follows:
ARTICLE 2F. PARENTAL NOTIFICATION OF ABORTIONS PERFORMED ON
UNEMANCIPATED MINORS.
§16-2F-10. Hospital may refuse to perform abortions unless life
of the mother is in imminent danger.
A hospital may not be required to perform any abortion, except
in cases when the life of the mother is in imminent danger.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to allow hospitals to
perform abortions only if the mother's life is in imminent danger.
