A BILL to amend and reenact section eight, article twenty-six,
chapter five of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine
hundred thirty-one, as amended, relating to continuation of
the governor's cabinet on children and families.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That section eight, article twenty-six, chapter five of the
code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 26. GOVERNOR'S CABINET ON CHILDREN AND FAMILIES.
§5-26-8. Effective date and termination date.
This article shall be in effect from passage. The cabinet
shall terminate on the thirtieth day of June, one thousand nine
hundred ninety-three, unless extended by legislation enacted
before the termination date. After having conducted a
preliminary performance audit through its joint committee on
government operations, pursuant to section nine, article ten,
chapter four of this code, the Legislature hereby finds anddeclares that the governor's cabinet on children and families
should be continued and reestablished. Accordingly,
notwithstanding the provisions of section four, article ten,
chapter four of this code, the governor's cabinet on children and
families shall continue to exist until the first day of July, one
thousand nine hundred ninety-nine.
NOTE: This bill provides for the continuation of the
Governor's Cabinet on Children and Families until July 1, 1999.

Government Operations for passage at the 1993 Regular Session.
