CHARLESTON, W.V. – Senator Ron Miller (D-Greenbrier) was honored this week with receiving the Governor’s Legislative Cultural Facilities Award for his dedication and promotion of the arts in West Virginia.
“The arts are an important part of my life’s work because everyone, no matter their situation, can benefit,” says Miller. “Whether listening, viewing, or a combination of the two, the arts provide a safe haven for the human experience and a connection for all of us to share.”
Senator Miller received the award Thursday during the annual Governor’s Arts Awards ceremony in Charleston.
“I am honored to receive this award, and as a state senator, I pledge my continued support of the arts and remain committed to ensuring that sufficient resources are provided to arts organizations,” says Miller.
Senator Miller’s district is home to several cultural landmarks including the Greenbrier Valley Theatre and the New River Youth Symphony and Chorus.
