Charleston, WV - West Virginia Senate Majority Leader and Chairman of the Select Committee on Children and Poverty John Unger, (D-Berkeley), announced that the second community meeting of the select committee will begin at 7 p.m. on March 20th at the Raleigh County Commission on Aging, Inc., 1614 South Kanawha Street, in Beckley, WV.
Senator Mike Green, (D-Raleigh) said that he is honored to have the Select Committee on Children and Poverty and its members travel to Beckley to hear from the local residents.
“This issue is of great importance, and we must dedicate our full attention and resources to addressing it. This is a key step to building a foundation that will allow us to effectively combat the poverty our communities face," said Senator Green.
“I appreciate the members of the Select Committee coming to meet and to listen to our constituents,” said Senator Daniel Hall, (D-Wyoming), “I hope this endeavor enables us to provide a better life for our children.”
