Delegate Summers To Host Town Hall On Natural Gas Issues December 1 In Grafton

GRAFTON, W.Va. – Delegate Amy Summers, R-Taylor, will host a town hall on horizontal drilling and lease integration issues Tuesday, Dec. 1, in Grafton.

The town hall will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the city council chambers of the Grafton Municipal Complex, located at 1 West Main St.

“This town hall is an opportunity to educate the public about the natural gas issues currently before the Legislature,” Summers said. “It will also serve as a forum for citizens to ask questions and learn about the matter.”

House Energy Committee Chairman Woody Ireland, R-Ritchie, will discuss details of the latest pooling proposal that his committee plans to introduce in the 2016 legislative session, which begins Jan. 13. Representatives from the West Virginia Farm Bureau will also be on hand to answer questions and discuss their support for the legislation.

“I’ve heard from many constituents in our area who have questions about forced pooling and natural gas development issues,” Summers said. “I hope this forum will provide a chance to address those questions and provide information about the proposals lawmakers will consider in the upcoming session.”
