Charleston, WV - Senate President Jeff Kessler (D - Marshall) received the inaugural Russ Taylor Action in Advocacy award Tuesday from the West Virginia Association of Drug and Alcohol Abuse Counselors (WVAADC).
WVAADC President Susie Mullens says President Kessler received the Action in Advocacy Award for his dedication and service to WVAADC for efforts to provide treatment for addiction.
“Drug and alcohol addiction is a drain not only on our homes, communities and families but our jail and prison systems,” says Kessler. “As a result, we should deal with addiction in a comprehensive fashion.”
Senate President Kessler says he is honored to receive the award and vows to continue working for the treatment of addiction. He received the award during the WVAADC fall conference at Stonewall Resort.
