A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §18A-4-1b, relating to increasing teacher salaries.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §18A-4-1b, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 4. SALARIES, WAGES AND OTHER BENEFITS.
§18A-4-1b. Teacher salary increase.
Beginning July 1, 2017, the state minimum salaries for teachers shall be paid in accordance with section two of this article with an additional sum of $5,716 included therein.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to increase teacher’s salaries in order to be competitive with other states.
