A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by
adding thereto a new section, designated §51-10-11, relating
to authorizing the Administrator of the Supreme Court to
oversee bail bondsmen; and promulgation of rules if needed.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended
by adding thereto a new section, designated §51-10-11, to read as
follows:
ARTICLE 10. PROFESSIONAL BONDSMEN IN CRIMINAL CASES.
§51-10-11. Administrator of the Supreme Court; promulgation of
rules.
Notwithstanding any provision of this code to the contrary,
the Administrator of the Supreme Court is authorized to oversee
bail bondsmen in conjunction with courts of record as provided in
section eight of this article. The Administrator of the Supreme
Court may promulgate rules that it considers necessary for
administration and oversight of this article.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to authorize the
Administrator of the Supreme Court to oversee bail bondsmen; and to
promulgate rules if necessary.
