A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new article, designated §1-6-1 and §1-6-2, relating to the display of the United States flag.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new article, designated §1-6-1 and §1-6-2, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 6. WEST VIRGINIA PATRIOT’S PROTECTION ACT.
§1-6-1. Short title.
This article may be cited as the “West Virginia Patriot’s Protection Act.
§1-6-2. Display of the United States Flag.
No resident of the State of West Virginia may be forbidden, by operation of statute, ordinance or provision in a contract, the right to display one standard sized or smaller current or historical variant of the United State’s flag at his or her residence.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to allow West Virginia residents the right to display a United State’s flag at their residence.
