A BILL to amend and reenact §22-1-4 of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, related to continuation of the Department of Environmental Protection.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That §22-1-4 of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 1. DIVISION OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION.
§22-1-4. Department
of Environmental Protection continued.
Pursuant to the provisions of article ten, chapter four of this code, the Department of Environmental Protection shall continue to exist until the first day of July, two thousand four seven, unless sooner terminated, continued or reestablished. pursuant to the provisions of that article.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to continue the Department of Environmental Protection until July 1, 2007, pursuant to the West Virginia Sunset Law.

NOTE: This bill is recommended by the Joint Committee on Government Operations for passage during the 2006 Regular Session.
