A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §3-4A-35, relating to requiring the Secretary of State and the West Virginia Cybersecurity Office to run or use a penetration test for online election systems no later than one month before all elections.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:


ARTICLE 4A. ELECTRONIC VOTING SYSTEMS.


§3-4A-35. Penetration test for online election systems.

The Secretary of State, in coordination with the West Virginia Cybersecurity Office, shall run or use a penetration test for online election systems no later than one month before all elections.


 

NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require the Secretary of State and the West Virginia Cybersecurity Office to run a penetration test for online election systems no later than one month before all elections.
