Delegates Staton and Browning
H. C. R. 2--"Honoring Paul R. 'Butch' Goode, Jr., for his outstanding service to the people of Wyoming County and the State of West Virginia by naming the Number 24.76 Bridge on State Route 16 in Mullens, Wyoming County, the "Paul 'Butch' Goode Bridge".
Whereas, Paul R. "Butch" Goode, Jr., was an outstanding athlete and scholar, having graduated in 1956 from Pineville High School and awarded an athletic scholarship to West Virginia University; and
Whereas, He was a member of the Pineville Hall of Fame and All State-All-Area-All County Football and Basketball, Sigma Nu Fraternity, and received numerous honors from organizations at West Virginia University; and
Whereas, Paul R. "Butch" Goode, Jr., was elected Wyoming County Prosecuting Attorney in 1972, serving twenty years; and
Whereas, Paul R. "Butch" Goode, Jr., served as Chairman of the Democratic Party; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Bridge Number 24.76 on State Route 16 in Mullens, Wyoming County, West Virginia, be named the "Paul 'Butch' Goode Bridge"; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Commissioner of the Division of Highways.
