HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 33

(By Delegates Warner, Border and Anderson)




Directing the Joint Committee on Government and Finance to make
a study of West Virginia's laws regarding parking for persons with disabilities resulting in mobility impairment.

Whereas, The United States government has passed laws governing the provision of parking spaces for persons with mobility impairment; and
Whereas, It is necessary to update the laws of West Virginia to make them consistent with federal laws related to parking for persons with mobility impairment; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Joint Committee on Government and Finance is hereby directed to review, examine and study the status of West Virginia laws related to the provision of parking places for persons with mobility impairment, and to study the conformance of state laws with federal laws, and to make recommendations to the Legislature related to their study; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Joint Committee on Government and Finance report to the regular session of the Legislature, 1997, on its findings, conclusions and recommendations, together with drafts of any legislation necessary to effectuate its recommendations; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the expenses necessary to conduct this study, to prepare a report and to draft necessary legislation be paid from legislative appropriations to the Joint Committee on Government and Finance.
