A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §18-2-9a, relating to requiring schools in the state to teach cursive writing.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

ARTICLE 2. STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION.

§18-2-9a. Teaching of cursive writing required.

 In all public, private, parochial and denominational schools located within this state there shall be given prior to the completion of the eighth grade at least one year of instruction in cursive writing.

NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require that cursive writing be taught in all schools in West Virginia.
