A BILL to amend article four, chapter eighteen of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section thirteen; and to amend article five of said chapter by adding thereto a new section, designated section forty-six, all relating to prohibiting discrimination by a county school superintendent or school board members against an applicant for appointment, job placement or advancement on the basis of the applicant's service in the Legislature.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article four, chapter eighteen of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section thirteen; and to amend article five of said chapter by adding thereto a new section, designated section forty-six, all to read as follows:
ARTICLE 4. COUNTY SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS.

§18-4-13. Discrimination on basis of legislative service prohibited.

A duly appointed superintendent shall not discriminate against any applicant for appointment, job placement or advancement on the basis of the applicant's service in the Legislature.
ARTICLE 5. COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION.

§18-5-46. Discrimination on basis of legislative service prohibited.

A duly elected board member shall not discriminate against any applicant for appointment, job placement or advancement on the basis of the applicant's service in the Legislature.



NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to prohibit discrimination by a county school superintendent or school board member in the appointment, job placement or advancement of any applicant on the basis of that applicant's service in the Legislature.
