A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by
adding thereto a new section, designated §5-16-7f, relating to
prohibiting coverage for abortions under insurance plans
provided under the Public Employees Insurance Act.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended
by adding thereto a new section, designated §5-16-7f, to read as
follows:
ARTICLE 16. WEST VIRGINIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES INSURANCE ACT.
§5-16-7f. Coverage for abortions prohibited.
Notwithstanding any other provision of this code, the
insurance plans provided under this article may not include
coverage for medical or surgical abortion procedures.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to prohibit coverage for
abortions under insurance plans provided under the Public Employees
Insurance Act.
