     H. C. R. 25 – “Urging the U. S. Post Office to conduct a ceremony celebrating the official release of a priority mail stamp commemorating the New River Gorge Bridge.”

    Whereas, The United States Post Office is set to release a priority mail stamp commemorating the New River Gorge Bridge on April 11, 2011; and

    Whereas, The United States Post Office generally conducts a nationwide release program for the issuance of stamps that allows stamps to be released in Washington, D.C. without a ceremony and without local participation; and

    Whereas, The United States Post Office can conduct local ceremonies if there is interest in the area in commemorating the issuance of a stamp; and

    Whereas, A ceremony to officially unveil the New River Gorge Commemorative Stamp should be held at a local West Virginia post office; therefore, be it

    Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:

    That the United States Post Office is urged to conduct a ceremony, celebrating the official release of a priority mail stamp commemorating the New River Gorge Bridge, in a West Virginia post office; and, be it

    Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the House forward a certified copy of this resolution to the United States Post Office and the members of the West Virginia congressional delegation.
