A BILL to amend and reenact §17A-2-24 of the code of West Virginia,
1931, as amended, relating to continuation of the
division of
motor vehicles
.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That §17A-2-24 of the code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended,
be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 2. DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES.
§17A-2-24. Continuation of division.
The division of motor vehicles shall continue to exist,
pursuant to the provisions of article ten, chapter four of this
code,
until the first day of July, two thousand four six, pursuant
to the provisions of article ten, chapter four of this code unless
sooner terminated, continued or reestablished pursuant to the
provisions of that article.

(NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to continue the
division
of motor vehicles
until July 1, 2006, pursuant to the West Virginia sunset law. This bill is recommended by the joint committee on
government operations.
