A BILL to amend and reenact §31-16-5 of the code of West Virginia,
1931, as amended, relating to continuation of the steel
advisory commission and steel futures program.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That §31-16-5 of the code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended,
be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 16. WEST VIRGINIA STEEL FUTURES PROGRAM.
§31-16-5. Continuation of commission and program.
The steel advisory commission and the steel futures program
shall continue to exist until the first day of July, two thousand
four five, : Provided, That prior to the termination date the
joint committee on government organization shall conduct a
performance review of the commission and program unless sooner
terminated, continued or reestablished pursuant to the provisions
of article ten, chapter four of this code

(NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to continue the steel
advisory commission until July 1, 2005, pursuant to the West
Virginia sunset law. This bill is recommended by the joint
committee on government operations.
