SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 34

(By Senators Bowman, Unger, McKenzie, Ross, Anderson, Sharpe, Helmick, Fanning, Edgell, Kessler, Minard and Plymale)


Recognizing Tony's Gang Foundation, Inc., for its work with children suffering from life-threatening illnesses.

Whereas, Tony's Gang was founded in loving memory of Tony Lizza, a child who bravely fought a 10-year battle with leukemia; and
Whereas, Despite his serious illness, Tony Lizza continued to live his young life to its fullest capability; and
Whereas, Tony's Gang founder Gretchen Lizza began the Foundation in an effort to help children with life-threatening illnesses by providing diversions and excitement in their lives despite their suffering; and
Whereas, In Tony's Gang, each child is hailed as a hero for combating their physical struggles and focusing on life; and
Whereas, Tony's Gang serves such young people throughout the United States by providing opportunities which may otherwise be unavailable; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of Tony's Gang Foundation, Inc., for its endeavors to help children suffering from life-threatening diseases live their young lives to their fullest abilities; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Senate extends its sincere appreciation to Gretchen Lizza for her unselfish devotion to children suffering from serious illness; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to Tony's Gang Foundation, Inc., and its founder Gretchen Lizza.
