A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §9-8-2a, relating to requiring the Department of Health and Human Resources to collaborate with the Workforce Development Board, the West Virginia Division of Personnel, and the West Virginia Department of Education for purposes of job placement.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:


ARTICLE 8. eligibility and fraud requirEments for public assistance.


§9-8-2a. Duties and powers of the commissioner; authorization to cooperate and collaborate with the Workforce Development Board, the West Virginia Division of Personnel, and the West Virginia Department of Education.


The commissioner, at the direction of the secretary, shall cooperate and collaborate with the Workforce Development Board, the West Virginia Division of Personnel, and the West Virginia Department of Education for the purpose of assisting in job placement for unemployed persons seeking employment aid or who are receiving state benefits. The secretary shall propose rules for legislative approval in accordance with §29A-3-1 et seq. of this code to implement this section.


 

NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to provide assistance for purposes of job placement by requiring the Department of Health and Human Resources to collaborate with the Workforce Development Board, the West Virginia Division of Personnel, and the West Virginia Department of Education.
